Multi-store Magento: the checkout that only fails in one country
Magento can run many websites and store views from one installation, each with its own currency, language, payment and shipping settings. That flexibility has a cost: a checkout can be broken for one market while every other one works perfectly.

How scope mistakes happen
Configuration can be set at default, website or store view level, and a more specific value silently overrides the general one. Someone disables a payment method “for testing” on one website, or sets a shipping table rate only at default scope, and one market loses it.
Imports, extensions and deployment scripts that write configuration make it worse. Keep configuration in code where you can (`config.php` / `env.php`), so changes are reviewed.
What breaks
Missing payment methods for one currency, shipping rates that do not exist for one country, tax rules that apply to one store view only, a translation that breaks a JavaScript string on the checkout.
Because each market is smaller than the whole, the drop in orders is easy to miss — the same problem as guest and account checkouts breaking separately.
Monitor each market
Treat each important store view as its own store for testing: its own test product, address and payment method. After configuration changes, test the markets you did not touch as well as the one you did.
In MageSentinel, each store view can be added as a separate store with its own schedule and alerts, so a failure in one country is named as such.
Check your own store now with the free Magento checkout test: it walks the checkout in a real browser, Luma or Hyvä, and shows the step where it stops.
Common questions
Why does Magento checkout fail in only one store view?
A payment, shipping or tax setting was changed at website or store view scope and overrides the default for that market only.
How do I see which scope a setting comes from?
Switch the scope selector in Stores → Configuration; fields that override the default show the "Use Default" checkbox unticked.
Do I need to monitor each store view?
Yes. Each website, currency and country path can fail on its own, so check each one you sell in.
